It looks like we have dodged the Obamacare bullet for the present.
I wrote earlier about our concern for the changes that were going into place on April 1. Our health insurance was going to continue with Blue Shield but we were moving to a new pool. We waned to keep our Blue Shield PPO even though it cost us more. You get what you pay for and we were okay with that. What we were worried about were all the people who were finding too late that the change meant mandated coverage of things they didn’t want which opened the door to cancellation and re-application at much higher premiums. We had a slight raise in cost but since our policy already covered all the socialist dreams of the Democrats (Progressives, Liberals, Communists, Socialists, elitists) we didn’t have the big new increases.
We know it is in place because my wife just had major surgery and the ducks seem to be in a row. We are blessed and grateful.
I wish I could say the same for all of you.
In the process we also came to realize that we would not be getting the best care if we had one of the policies sold by the Obamacare machine. We asked. We were told that if we had anything other than what we had they would not accept us. This was true of both doctors and hospitals. We wanted the best. Because we had Blue Shield PPO, the best wanted us. All others need not apply.
There is still a lot of pain out there. People are suffering and death is happening. Our nanny state keeps sticking its thumb in the eye of society. After all, Uncle knows best. I trust that in the elections of November people will remember.
Vote the suckers out. Both parties seem to need a change. Remember, if you don’t get all the roaches you have not really cleaned house.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

I never even went to the site. I have no money anyway. Hopefully I'll have a job before long that either has benefits or pays enough that I can get what I want.
ReplyDeleteOut here if you have no money you just go to the ER and get the care you need. It is those with inadequate insurance that have to worry. I trust you will find something now that you have the piece of paper.
