Problems of immigration were around from the beginning of this country. They were on the list of complaints given by the Founders in the Declaration of Independence. Their view was different. They wanted more and the king was keeping it from happening. The principles are the same. From the Declaration of Independence:
“He has endeavored to prevent the Population of these States; for that Purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their Migrations hither, and raising the Conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.”The point I am making is that of law. Our president and his minions are “obstructing the Laws”. We have laws about illegal entry. We have quotas. We have procedures. Congress voted to build a fence. We have a border patrol. One of the reasons it isn’t working is because the group, headed by the president, responsible for enforcing the laws is working to go around them.
Granted, in 1776 the cry was for more immigration. In regard to that, one of the big problems with our system is that the INS is not doing its job in the area of legal immigration. They are not making it possible for the thousands who are filling out the forms and standing in the lines to make it through the process.
They had one problem. We have two. The federal government is doing nothing to stop the wave of illegal immigrants and doing nothing to help the movement of legal applicants.
King George wanted to keep the colonies weak. King Barak wants to keep the states weak; to increase the number of people who will go on the dole and vote Democrat. Either way it is anti-liberty and pro-tyranny.
Happy Declaration Day
