Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2015-171: Ryan Channels Pelosi

Remember how we scoffed when Nancy Pelosi said that we needed to pass Obamacare so we could find out what was in it?  Remember all the comments like signing a check so you can find out how much it was for?  Paul Ryan seems to have crossed to the dark side because he is saying the same things about the fast track trade deal that the president was pushing.

Ryan had his reasons but they don’t come close to the one overwhelming truth that we have seen over and over again:  You cannot trust this president and giving him power without restraint is a sure path to disaster.  Now I have reached the conclusion that I can’t trust Paul Ryan’s judgement either.  I am sure, like the president, he is a good husband and father.  Beyond that, danger ahead.

Do we need an agreement with Asia?  Probably.  Am I in favor of free trade?  Yes.  But to give a president who is a Progressive (aka socialist, communist, elitist, Rino), who wants to restrain all free enterprise, the power to do what he wants is called asinine.  It sounds like it was a proposal thrown out by the California Teachers’ Association.

I find myself in a very embarrassing position but I will man up and say it.  “Thank you Democrats.”  I don’t trust their motives but I agree with their actions.

Go back to the drawing board and come up with something that is not full of trade offs that are top secret.  Americans should not need a security clearance to be able to read laws passed by congress or treaties approved by the senate.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
