I am at an age where I don’t look forward to the weekend because I can party. I look forward to the weekend so that I can prepare for the next week. It is a refuel time. This morning as I was discussing this with God, He brought to mind a bit of the Bible that spoke to my predicament. The need expressed is part of being human.
(Isaiah 40:31 KJV) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.I don’t run any more. I do climb stairs. Maybe I can substitute that. I try to walk on a regular basis. I have a life and I can’t afford to be overwhelmed by “weary” or “faint”. So I am following the owners manual. I rest. I take a Sabbath. I wait upon the Lord. I do my part and part of the life of walking by faith is to expect Him to do His.
Turning to Him is for me to do. Being renewed is for Him to do. It is part of Him being God.
I invite you to join me in an Isaiah 40 day.
