We were all offended by the “humor” showing a decapitated president. Rightly so. It was offensive.
At the same time, it was her expressing her political opinion and is thus covered by the First Amendment. The thing the left has forgotten is that freedom of speech is a right because it covers things that we find offensive. We on the right cannot afford to forget.
It is also a chance for the free market to do its job. We keep hearing the whining about how the president is bullying her. Not really. What is working to whip her into shape is capitalism. She is not being cancelled because the venues disagree with her. I imagine that before they stopped to think, the left wing thought the picture was a great expression of their desires. She is being cancelled because the average Americans who pay money to attend events would refuse to let the cash flow to support such a sick mind.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. By the time it is finished this picture will be worth a million dollars, or more.
Allowing her to display her true colors is a way of supporting our liberty. Allowing her to crash and burn is also a way of supporting out liberty. I just wish I could be there when she applies for her first EBT card.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Have you forgotten? The First Amendment is only for non-male, non-white non-conservatives!
ReplyDeleteSo why do they want to remove it so desperately?

I so love reading your blog everyday. I also read "Ton Thoughts" and finally today made the connection between you two as teacher and student....A lovely "Farewell" post from "Ton" on his blog today....Teaching in today's milieu of education is a huge challenge! Evidently you have fully met that challenge and have also made a lifelong friend in Vincent Ton. God's blessings be with you in your retirement years ahead! (And for heaven's sake, please still make time for blogging) I'll still be following along! 🙂
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you. Vincent is one of a kind. I plan to keep in contact with him and if I stop blogging he might disown me.

Good to know I have a loyal following. Perhaps we can all have some sort of blogging family reunion one day at some retirement home in Florida.
DeleteThe question would be would I still know who you were at that point. You could tell me you were my son or my lawyer and all I could do is drool and smile.
