Alfie Evans has died. It may be that he would have died no matter what course was taken. We will never know.
His death saddens me. This is partly a personal reaction. I have just experienced the joy of having a grandchild. Already she has been back to the hospital. It grabs hold of your heart and squeezes when it happens. I can remember a time when my son was in a coma and not responding. I know the fear and when it becomes a reality you want to go into denial. So it touched a chord.
The way he died fills me with horror. To think that a government agency would be able to make the kind of decisions that were made means tyranny that we can only have nightmares about. And people want to bring British style medical care to the United States. The terror is not personal. I am not afraid of dying. I am getting up there. I know Jesus. I am ready to go. No big deal. The day may come when my children are forced to approve the removal of life support. I guess you could say I can live with that.
But I have children and a hope for future generations. I fear for them if the Democrats (Progressives, liberals, socialists, communists, Rinos, elites) have their way and decide what is best for each of us. It wasn’t that they turned the machines off. That may have been a necessary move. There are times when you take away the artificial supports. But then the death panels continued to make decisions they should not have been allowed to do. Food was withheld. At one point water was withheld. That is criminal. Then you have all the outside groups that volunteered to take the baby and see what they could do at no expense to the British Government. I understand even the Pope tried to intervene.
The government had decided that this child had to die for his own good. That was not their decision to make in a free country. I guess that tells you something about liberty in Great Britain. And again, keep in mind, the liberals want to bring it here. Alfie may have died anyway. I guess we will never know.
Next time you hear a liberal talking about health care for all, remember Alfie. Vote the suckers out, while you still have a chance.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
