I am ready to hear some campaign promises from Donald Trump. I am ready because it seems like he did that strange thing called Keeping His Promises. I believe he has mentioned the need for voter ID but I don’t know if he has declared that it must happen.
I think we need to really push voter ID as an election issue. It may be too late to get it done in 2020 although I would like to see it. On the primary ballot in Texas the Republicans expressed overwhelming support for purging illegal voters and making sure that new registered voters were citizens. It is a start but we need to go further. I would suggest the same requirements that you have at your local bank to cash a check. My experience is that if the teller recognizes you there is no request for ID. If you are a stranger to them then they want to see you driver’s license. It used to be that when I voted the people behind the table knew me by name. I can live with that.
We also need to get our laugh tracks in order. What laugh tracks? The ones we will play for the Social Justice Warriors who accuse us of being racist for wanting the same level of evidence to be given a ballot that we expect for cashing a check, getting on an airplane, buying a gun, or purchasing cigarettes. If you express such opinions you will be called a racist. Get ready to laugh at them and continue on the path to integrity in our elections. Lighten up. It is only verbal bullying. You might turn the tables by asking why they are such racist that they think you are concerned about black people voting. Do they think that fraud only comes in one color? Sounds racist to me.
We also need to stop this “discovery” of unknown ballots days after the election is over. If unknown ballots are found in a back room them we need to see someone indicted for election fraud before we count the ballots. They didn’t just get there by themselves.
If we cannot make our elections more honest then there is little reason to vote. The only way left to bring about change involves violence. When violence rules everyone loses.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
