I recently heard someone express the idea that Donald Trump was just using Christians to advance his agenda. He was not advocating it, just quoting someone in the Fake News Media.
Really? He has an interesting way of “using” us.
He has been the most pro-life president ever. He has been a true friend of Israel. He has worked to deregulate the federal government. The list goes on. And on. And on. Take a look at his accomplishments and tell me which one is “using” Christians and which ones are being supportive of what we believe is important.
About the only thing I can think of that I would question is his openness the homosexuals, but even there it has been accepting them as people, not advancing or advocating their agenda. Compare his stand with Biden signing an Executive Order directing trans-gender men to be allowed to participate in women’s sports. I prefer to be “used” instead of abused.
Keep lifting him up in your prayers. I pray first for his salvation whether that is to keep it or gain it. I pray next for his safety. I am sure he is in the sights of the deep state. I pray for his wisdom. I think he still has much to give.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if more elected officials used us this way?

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

It's my understanding that the preacher who was always around him led him to the Lord on an airplane while campaigning. He never pushed "his" Christianity, probably because he knew that he would be accused of using his faith as a campaign prop.
ReplyDeleteI am quite willing to accept that he has become a believer. I have been around long enough to know that everyone does not have to check all the boxes I check. The fact that he is not vocal about it actually figures in his favor as far as I am concerned.
