In third world countries one of the basic problems with medication is the ignorance of the population. If they are given a bottle of pills and told to take one a day many think that if one pill is good then two are better, and if two are better maybe the whole bottle will work wonders. I am sure there are people in this country who feel the same. We see it in everything from Vitamin D to lottery tickets. At best there are no side effects but if you are paying attention you can get a harmful result from an overdose of just about any thing.
Panic driven Americans have been indoctrinated with the same kind of thinking on masks and chemical injections. You remember when our noble Dr. Fauci suggested using more than one mask. In logic twice as much protection is twice as safe. I don’t know if it was a meme or if he actually upped the ante to three or more masks. In real life it doesn’t always work out that way. In math two times zero is still zero. If you have observed the way people handle and re-handle the masks that don’t fit you can understand that only in a carefully supervised clinical situation would the masks provide any protection. The way people treat them, that minimal is reduced to zero. Wearing two masks that have been in your pocket and pushed around by dirty hands is a matter of two times zero. It is like bailing water with a sieve. We were at a crowded restaurant yesterday and I observed one couple sitting at the next table wearing their masks. When the food came they put them in their pockets and dined like normal people. When they got ready to leave they took them out of their pockets, covered their faces and walked out like they were protected. I had to restrain myself from not going over and breathing on their food.
The foolishness is obvious to anyone who thinks. Unfortunately there are too many people who don’t. They are just fearing. Their fear acts like a blood clot that has reached their brain and stopped circulation. And they are fearing the wrong things. Instead of fearing their loss of liberty and being led astray by artificial political science they worry about a viral infection that is not much worse than a strong flu.
Might I suggest that you take your mask and put it over the top of your head and pretend that it is a thinking cap. If you do you might be surprised at the way in which the boogie man fades away into just a branch waving in the wind.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
