Almost every contact I have had today reinforces how unbrilliant the average American is. That goes double if they are under thirty.
My wife came screaming into the back room of the house screaming, literally, about how stupid the people she is dealing with in matters such as insurance. I don’t know if I feel her pain but my ears certainly heard her frustration.
On the Zoom call I join twice a week there was extended discussion of such books as The Closing of the American Mind and a new one The Coddling of the American Mind. I have read the first but not the second. We were all agreed that our university system was failing the young people of America.
An example of that would be one of those man-on-the-street videos I watched. The interviewer was asking people if they knew who Anne Frank was. Many of them had no clue. With that in mind along with the previous paragraph I though a good term for higher education would be Intellectual Auschwitz.
All I can advise you is count your change, check behind your car when you back up and watch for young people walking down the street with their heads bowed in prayer. If you are in that stage of life you might also consider home schooling your children. You need to know that you will have to work hard to get worse results than the public school and you will not need to spend so much time explaining sexual terms that used to be isolated in the porn shop.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
