Why did Jesus blind Paul?
If you are not familiar with the story you will find it in Acts 9. You might note, if you have seen aritst renditions, that there is no mention of being knocked off a horse, just bright light, falling and hearing voices.
It was probably the only way He could get him to sit down, shut up and listen.
Those few days may have been the only time in his life when he was not charging full speed ahead on his latest crusade. Paul was a classic Type A. Before Jesus put him to the mat his entire focus in life was destroying those heretics who followed Jesus. Jail cells and execution were the formula for the day. Nothing could be allowed to stand in his way. God found a way.
I think it is worth noting that in many ways Paul was not changed. He was still hard charging and focused but now it was to proclaim Jesus instead of destroying His followers.
God usually uses us as we are. If you are mechanical He will probably find a use that applies your gifts. Are you a scholar, prepare to study. Are you a party animal? You might be in charge of pot lucks.
Being unworthy is a feature, not a bug. All of us are unworthy until He gets hold of us and then that changes. There will be changes but they may not be the changes other people think you need to make. You may find that what used to be an irritating character trait is strangely transformed into a glorious asset.
Trust me. Better yet, trust Him.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
