The recent crash of a major bank brings to mind the supposed protection of FDIC. For the average person who follows directions it means that eventually you will get your money back. The victim class and the special elites are not overly worried. They figure that rules are only for fools and the government will eventually try to buy their votes by bailing them out.
The whole concept of insurance is consistent with the promises of Providence. I am thinking here about the dichotomy of threats of punishment and promises of blessings. I often wonder what happens if you are one of the faithful remnant in the midst of a rebellious generation. Which applies to you?
God’s promise is more insurance than training wheels. I watch my granddaughter ride her bike and having no sense of balance. The extra wheels keep her up. At her level that is good but she will be expected to grow out of them. Providence provides long range assurance not a security blanket that guarantees no booboos. Providence assumes that we will grow up spiritually. God may keep the boogie man away with a night light when you are a child but eventually you are expected to stop fearing the dark.
I expect continued cultural decline. Part of that will be persecution of God’s people or anyone who tries to uphold traditional values. That means that I expect persecution if I live long enough. I also know that God has promises. How He works that out on a time line, I have no idea, but I have a conviction that He will work it out. Those who reject God’s patience and attack His people are going to learn a whole new definition of hurt.
It is called living by faith.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
